Public Speaking
The spoken word - we all use it - some better than others. Again, keep it simple. Communicate with your audience - don't try to impress then. Express yourself and connect with them on an emotional level.
Tell a good story your audience can understand and relate to.
Each time you Speak in Public, you’re giving a Performance.
James Pogson combines Public Speaking Techniques with Performance based skills to produce ‘Performance Presentations.’
It’s the Oral Art of Story-Selling:

Where to Begin
You're telling a Story - a story you wish people to buy into - therefore you're Story-Selling. Always start with the end in mind – know how you want to end your presentation and what sort of response you want from your audience.
If you want them to applaud you, make it relevant, interesting and entertaining.
Structure your presentation with a beginning, middle and a satisfactory end.
Talk about what your audience wants to hear - don’t concentrate on what you want to say.
Know what You’re Really Talking About
- Understand what your Theme is – it has to be about something. Imagine having a cure for the common cold, but delivering an unstructured, dull presentation - who’s going to take notice of you?
- Public Speaking doesn’t have to be a frightening experience, or a painful one for your audience. They want you to succeed, they want you to be Interesting – they want value for money.
- Be different and memorable – add a Performance perspective to your Speaking and entertain your audience.
